The Corona Virus is still making its impact around the world, and with College Athletics impacted significantly, one positive outcome will help Arizona Softball.

I know it seems like a bunch of doom and gloom right now, especially with the ongoing Corona Virus hiatus. However, one good thing that did come out of this will impact Arizona Softball in a significant way.

As it stands, even with Spring sports cancelled at the Collegiate level, the NCAA did do something right in allowing seniors from 2020 to be able to come back in 2021 to still be able to participate.

Arizona Wildcats

I know for the Arizona Baseball team that likely comes as good news, even with the uncertainty of the roster at this point still, but one team that will be benefited from the exception will be Arizona Softball.

Already for 2020, the Wildcats were stacked and were poised to have a great year, starting off the season with 22-3 record with their three losses coming to No. 2 Oklahoma, Texas A&M and No. 7 Florida.

Well, now with this new change from the NCAA, things could be very bright for the Wildcats in 2021.

As it stands, likely returning for Arizona next season will be; Reyna Carranco, Dejah Mulipola, Malia Martinez, Jessie Harper, Alyssa Denham, Alyssa Palomino-Cardoza and Mariah Lopez.

Now that’s quite the group!

In addition to them, the Wildcats will have a number of talented players coming back and coming in.

I know it’s a bit early to see at this point, especially with the season being so far out, however, make no mistake about it, this will be a very deep and talented squad in 2021 that should contend for a College World Series title!

In this case, at least there was some good that came out of all this mess, the NCAA showing some compassion, and Arizona being a beneficiary of the NCAA ruling!
