Arizona Women’s Basketball adds graduate transfer Trinity Baptiste

Already making preparations for the 2020-21 season, the Arizona Women’s Basketball team added a key graduate transfer in Trinity Baptiste.

Projected to be one of the better teams not only in the Pac-12 next season, but also in College Basketball, the Arizona Women’s Basketball team got a little bit better on Tuesday with the addition of Trinity Baptiste.

For those that don’t know, Trinity was standout at Virginia Tech and took to social media to not only announce her transfer, but to commit to the Wildcats!

This is certainly a key addition to the squad as not only Aari McDonald and Sam Thomas come back, but also as they look to replace the very valuable Dominique McBryde (which won’t be easy).

So why do we like this commitment? Well, aside from Trinity being readily available to play from Day 1, she’s an experienced player that is going to provide immediate help.

Standing a sturdy, six-feet tall, Trinity was a key player for the Hokies, as she finished her junior season averaging 9.5 points and 6.4 rebounds in 30 games played, en route to being named the “Sixth Player” of the year in the Atlantic Coast Conference.

She was a big part of Virginia Tech’s success this past season, and will likely provide a huge boost to the Wildcats in 2020-21.

We already had stated that replacing McBryde was going to be a challenge, but this will certainly make up for it!

With the commitment of Baptiste, in addition to the return of McDonald, you have to automatically assume Arizona is going to be a dangerous team next season. This was a talented group that was on their way to potentially hosting the first two rounds of the NCAA Tournament, and return a large corp of their talent.

Look for Arizona to go far in March next season, and Baptiste will be a big part of that! Just look at what she did while at Virginia Tech!
