After much anticipation and waiting after the NFL Draft, former Wildcat Khalil Tate has officially signed with the Philadelphia Eagles!
It was only a matter of time before we would see former Wildcat Khalil Tate get his chance in the NFL, and on Sunday afternoon, we all learned that Tate is going to get that chance as he heads to the Philadelphia Eagles.
Making news via social media, the former Wildcat announced that he was signing with the Eagles, but in a shocking move, it sounds like Tate will instead switch to wide receiver from quarterback.

Make no mistake, this is an interesting move as we know Tate has been adamant about wanting to play quarterback at not only the collegiate level, but also the professional level, if given the opportunity. Now that switch will indeed happen.
Either way, there’s no doubting that while some will judge his last two years here harshly, Tate was a productive collegiate player and had some terrific games with the Cats.
Now it’ll be exciting to see how he translates at the next level. If he does end up making it as a wide receiver and is possibly used in a Taysom Hill-type of role, that would be a terrific fit.
At 6-feet-2-inches and roughly 216 pounds, he possess great size to be a receiver at the next level, and we all know the immense athleticism he has while running with the football that could make him a great asset.
However, the road for him won’t be easy. The real work starts now as Tate will compete with numerous other players in similar positions who also hope to make the team, but should he make the transition seamlessly, there’s no telling the amount of upside here.
Here’s a reminder of just how special this kid can be!
At Zona Zealots, we would like to thank Khalil for his hard work while here and would like to wish him the best moving forward! As always, Bear Down, Arizona!
