Looking at possible Arizona Basketball target, Tibet Gorener
Still looking to possibly round out the 2020 recruiting class, the Arizona Basketball team may have yet another target in forward, Tibet Gorener.
It’s been a whirlwind of events these past few weeks for the Arizona Basketball team, especially as Sean Miller and the Cats have been working tirelessly on the recruiting front. However, their work may not be over quite yet as 2020 forward Tibet Gorener may potentially be another target to round out the class.
Who would have thought that Arizona would go from having a recruiting class that gave us some concerns to looking more like what we’re used to.
Arizona Wildcats
To recap, the Wildcats brought in graduate transfer Terrell Brown, they got a commitment from one of the top, commitable European point guards in Kerr Kriisa in addition to French big man, Daniel Batcho.
That’s also not to mention the current commits of Dalen Terry, Ben Mathurin and the incoming transfers of Jordan Brown and James Akinjo.
On the surface, this looks like a strange and eclectic group that has you scratching your head regarding their overall cohesion.
However, when you begin to analyze this team further, this roster is actually looking better and better, especially as the Cats have an abundance of athletes, many of which can play multiple positions. That is certainly great when you compare it to the more popular “position-less” basketball trend we are seeing more and more of.
Fans were calling for less ‘one-and-dones’, it looks like Miller and Arizona were listening as they seem to have brought in more players this class that will likely be multi-year players.
With the current state of things regarding Arizona Basketball and the presumed roster for 2020, it looks like there may be room for one more player, especially as Kerwin Walton, another key target for Arizona, finally picked North Carolina on Monday.
So with that final open spot, it’s evident that Tibet Gorener may be the next target.
Already drawing interest from Creighton, Arizona and Nerbaska in addition to others, Gorener is a long, athletic and rangy forward who projects as more of a project.
Classifying to be in the 2020 class, technically Gorener would normally be a 2021 recruit and when you look at his thin, 6-foot-8 195 pound frame, he’s going to need to add a little weight.
Considered the No. 147 overall player in the class and a four-star recruit, Gorener is definitely a wing player who could compliment this class nicely.
He has good ball skills which make him more of a threat driving than just being a pass and catch shooter. He possesses a high basketball IQ, he’s athletic and isn’t just a face-up forward, he’s very much a stretch player.
Just watch for yourself!
We are intrigued to see how this recruitment plays out and whether another player or two also pops up on Arizona’s radar. As always, Bear Down!
