Amidst the season cancellation, the Arizona Baseball team is looking to the future as they gained a commitment for 2022 outfielder, Justin Crawford.

Do you miss Arizona Baseball? Well, sure do!. Aside from the season being cut short, we’re missing it even more as the Wildcats are staying hot on the recruiting trail, gaining a commitment for 2022 outfielder, Justin Crawford.

Does that name sound familiar? Well, to baseball fans it should perhaps a little, as Justin is the son to former MLB Star, Carl Crawford.

For those that don’t know who Carl is, he was the talented outfielder who played in the Majors from 2002 until 2016, playing with the Tampa Bay Devil Rays (later changed to the Rays), the Boston Red Sox, before playing and retiring with the Los Angeles Dodgers in 2016.

Putting together a very respectable career, it seems the acorn doesn’t fall too far from Carl’s tree, as his younger son Justin will be looking to make a path of his own in baseball.

A standout in the class of 2022, Justin is an outfielder/ pitcher at Bishop Gorman High School in Las Vegas, NV and will soon be entering his junior season as an Arizona commit.

On Friday afternoon, the news broke via Social Media as the page MLB Develops took to Twitter to announce his commitment, and it’s surely a big one!

Justin is a talented baseball player that not only looks like dad, but also will likely play outfield like his dad!

He has a good frame, a solid arm and definitely has some pop in his bat as the exit velocity on his bat is 73 mph, according to Perfect Game. By comparison, the hardest hit ball, was done by MLB star Giancarlo Stanton who hit a ground ball that went a recorded 123.9-miles-per-hour.

With more development, there’s no telling what he can do! I mean just look at what he could do a couple years ago!

At Zona Zealots, we’re excited for the addition of Justin and can’t wait to see how he continues to progress! As always, Bear Down, Arizona!
