With still hardly any football action, making waves via social media was Arizona Football and Alabama announcing a home-and-home for 2032-33.

You wanted better opponents? Well you got it, as the mighty, Alabama Crimson Tide is finally brave enough (kidding of course) to play our beloved Arizona Football team!

Unfortunately that match-up won’t happen for another 12 years of course!

As I’m sure you’ve been made aware by now, it’s that the Wildcats and Tide have agreed to a home-and-home series for the 2032 and 2033 seasons!

Together, the teams announced the scheduling agreement on Thursday, and naturally, it started making the rounds via social media.

Arizona will travel to Tuscaloosa, AL on September 4, 2032, while Alabama will then travel to Tucson on September 3, 2033.

I know for some fans, this is a great move, as some have called for the Wildcats to schedule better opponents. Meanwhile some may be groaning about the power house Crimson Tide playing our Wildcats who are not nearly to their level in terms of talent, coaching and prestige.

Luckily for us, the first match-up won’t be for another 12 years, so there is plenty of time for us to prepare and who knows where both teams will be in that far from now.

Who knows if Nick Saban will still be coaching the Tide.

While this will be the first meeting between the two schools, Arizona has played seven games against the Southeastern Conference. According to the school, Arizona is 1-2 against Auburn, 0-0-1 against Georgia and 0-3 against LSU.

This also isn’t the only match-up for Arizona against an SEC opponent. No, in fact the Wildcats are scheduled to play Mississippi State in a home-and-home for the 2022 and 2023 seasons!

At Zona Zealots, we’re excited for this match-up, even though it’s such a long ways away. It’ll be interesting to see what happens when they finally square off! As always, Bear Down, Arizona!
