Former Wildcat Dylan Smith officially becomes a father
With the Arizona Basketball season officially over, former Wildcat Dylan Smith enters the next phase of his life as he officially becomes a father.
It’s been a busy few months for former Wildcat Dylan Smith. Not long after his senior season was cut short due to Covid, Smith has been staying busy since then.
For those that had maybe missed it, it was just a couple of weeks ago that we all learned that Smith signed with agent Mike Naiditch of Beyond Athlete Management, hoping to help spark a professional career in basketball.

While it’s worth noting that Smith isn’t projected to go in any NBA Mock Draft thus far, he did prove himself to be quite a valuable collegiate player over his career, averaging 8.4 points, 2.7 rebounds and 1.4 assists per game while shooting over 35 percent from three for his career.
Who knows, maybe he could find his way on a G-League roster, or even overseas, just like many other Wildcats have done as well! Either way, we wish him well in his future endeavors.
However, it seems like that isn’t all that is happening, as more changes are coming in Smith’s life. In case you didn’t see it, Smith officially became a father over the weekend (May 23). Announcing that he welcomed a healthy, baby boy into the world.
Revealing the news via social media, Smith made it known that his son is named Allen “Bean” Jurod Smith, and it seems like it may be great timing too, as Father’s Day is less than a month away.
I know at Zona Zealots, we are especially happy for Dylan, and would like to congratulate him on becoming a father. We all hope that he continues to find success on and off the court! As always, Bear Down, Arizona and Bear Down, Dylan!
