Arizona Football Safety Troy Young transfers to UAB
With plenty of changes happening this off-season for the Arizona Football team, former Wildcat Troy Young announced he is transferring to UAB.
It unfortunately happens with every collegiate program, and Arizona Football has certainly been no stranger to it over the years, as safety Troy Young is the latest Wildcat to announce that he is leaving the program.
As you may recall, the Prichard, Ala. native announced months ago via Twitter that he would be leaving the University of Arizona, and that he would be entering the transfer portal.

Well now months after making that initial announcement, Troy says he is going to be heading home as he will finish out his collegiate career at the University of Alabama-Birmingham.
Troy made the announcement via social media, committing to the Blazers on Friday evening, and the move is a big one for him.
Now a redshirt junior, Troy will have the opportunity to play one more year of college football, and will likely be eligible immediately to make an impact.
Originally a standout at Mobile Christian High School, Troy was a Rich Rodriguez commit, and the loss will certainly be felt this season. Even though he saw limited action over the last three seasons, make no mistake about it as the loss will hurt.
As it stands, Arizona has just four scholarship safeties, as Chacho Ulloa announced he would graduate and is transferring to Montana State, while Scottie Young, Jr. will head to West Virginia.
Now with Troy leaving, it leaves the Cats even thinner at safety, even as the Cats transition to a brand new defense.
As for Troy, while we will miss him, we certainly wish him the best moving forward as he has to do what’s right for him. Either way, Bear Down always Troy and good luck!
