Arizona Athletics: Pac-12 to require weekly Covid testing
With the Pac-12 announcing that teams can return to action, Arizona Athletics and other programs will benefit as weekly Covid testing will be done as well.
It’s been a crazy few months, but perhaps we may be returning to a sense of normalcy. As we all saw days ago, Arizona Athletics announced that the Pac-12 approved voluntary workouts to resume starting June 15.
The move is certainly a step in the right direction in my opinion, as we hope to see a return to a sense of normalcy. And lord knows we can use a little normalcy right now.

Now granted I understand that there are some risks here in bringing students athletes back so soon. And overall, I feel the general safety, health and well-being of all our student athletes should still be paramount regardless.
Luckily for us and the student athletes, the Pac-12 agrees. As the NCAA already approved activities, the conference was slow playing the decision as a means of ensuring their is an appropriate plan in place to bring back the student athletes in a safe and timely fashion.
For Arizona Athletics, it means physical distancing, and bringing back student athletes in waves.
Well, now the Pac-12 has decided to take it a step further in ensuring the safety and well-being of the players. The conference announced that there will be mandatory, weekly Covid testing of its student athletes.
To me that is a great move. If we are going to return to having sports, having readily available testing, ensuring proper safety measures are taken, etc. needs to happen if this is going to get done.
While there is still a long ways to go in all of this, this is nonetheless still great to see. Seeing some progress and positivity even amid the chaos is much needed in my opinion. As always, Bear Down, Arizona!
