Arizona Football receives commit from Evan Branch-Haynes
Making more moves in the class of 2021, the Arizona Football team has added another one, as three-star DL Evan Branch-Haynes picks the Wildcats.
Finally the Arizona Football team is gaining more momentum on the recruiting trail. After not having a single commit as of a few weeks ago, three-star defensive lineman Evan Branch-Haynes now becomes the fourth commitment for 2021 so far, really changing Arizona’s fortune lately.
The news of Evan’s commitment became public on Sunday afternoon, as the Northern California native took to social media, picking the Wildcats despite offers from Montana, Idaho and Stetson so far.
Arizona Wildcats
Standing a sturdy, 6-feet-2-inches and weighing 270 pounds according to 247Sports, Evan will be a crucial part to this class, as Arizona continues to address their needs along the defensive line.
As you may recall, we highlighted what we felt Arizona’s recruiting needs were for 2021, and on the list was the defensive line. Given the Wildcats’ struggles there in recent years, this addition makes sense and should be welcomed among fans.
As the Wildcats look continue to build out the defensive by adding size and talent, luckily for us, Evans will do both.
A standout at Sacred Heart Cathedral Prep (San Francisco, CA), his sophomore season, he finished the year with 27 tackles (24 solo), 9.0 tackles for loss and 5.0 sacks through six games according to Maxpreps. That kind of production would be greatly beneficial in Tucson!
From his film, there is plenty to like!
He’s not just a big body, but Evan moves extremely well for his size. He shows great explosiveness off the line of scrimmage, and maintains great gap assignment generating a lot of pressure in the backfield.
Evan is strong, athletic and has a great motor overall. He bull rushes, creating great leverage for himself and pursues the quarterback with relentless effort, packing a lot of power in his tackles!
Just watch!
Really seem to like this addition and can’t to see how he continues to develop! As always, Bear Down and welcome aboard, Evan!
