It’s been a while since former Wildcat Parker Jackson-Cartwright stepped on the hardwood in Tucson, but the ex-Cat is still doing big things!

Who doesn’t love seeing former Wildcats succeed? Well, we do, and we’re glad to see that Parker Jackson-Cartwright is finding success since leaving Tucson.

Rated as a highly-touted point guard for the class of 2014, the Southern California native was believed to be a big-time prospect with lots of potential.

A standout at Loyola High School in Los Angeles, CA, unfortunately Parker didn’t quite live up to the lofty expectations that some may have had for him, however, he at least did have a productive collegiate career, averaging 5.5 points, 3.4 assists and 2.0 rebounds in 134 games (51 starts).

Well, now that his college days are over, Parker has been trying to make a path for himself in professional basketball, making numerous stops along the way.

Initially Parker landed in the G-League, being selected by the 905 Raptors (Toronto Raptors’ affiliate), before being acquired by Westchester, the New York Knicks’ G-League affiliate back in February of last year.

Well now Parker is with another new team. In case you missed it, Parker signed with Cheshire Phoenix Basketball Club, a British Basketball League (BBL) team based outside of Liverpool, England last summer.

And since traveling across the pond, PJC has found quite a bit of success. So much, that the former Arizona guard was “named the BBL Player of the Year in the Basketball Journalists Association (BJA) annual awards for the 2019-20 season” according to the teams’ website.

PJC finished the season averaging 20.2 points and 7.4 assists per game in the BBL Championship! Even more impressive, is that Parker is the first “Phoenix player” to earn that distinction.
