Jason Terry shares bond with incoming transfer Terrell Brown
Prior to his arrival as an assistant coach, Jason Terry may have helped in securing a commitment from Terrell Brown, as the two already share a unique bond.
It’s been just a week since the Arizona Basketball team brought in Jason Terry to become an assistant coach, and I think you’ll be hard-pressed to find anyone that doesn’t like the hire. Already it seems like it’s paid off, especially in the recruitment of incoming Seattle transfer, Terrell Brown.
As you may recall, just over a month ago, things were looking really bleak on the recruiting front for the Arizona Basketball team. At the time, the Wildcats had just Dalen Terry and Ben Mathurin committed.

Luckily, Arizona was able to then secure a commitment from Seattle transfer Brown, and it’s all been downhill since then. Especially as Sean Miller and the Cats have put together the No. 5 overall recruiting class according to 247Sports.
But nonetheless, it’s good for fans to know how the impact of Terry being a potential assistant coach to actually becoming an assistant coach has paid huge dividends on the recruiting front.
For the recruitment of Brown in particular it certainly helped, especially as the Pacific Northwest natives already share a unique bond. And no I’m not just talking about their similar geographical backgrounds.
In fact, Terry is the godfather to Brown, and in one of his recent interviews, Terry noted how he “literally changed his diapers back in Seattle growing up,” he said. “I didn’t know that he would have the opportunity to play at the University of Arizona… I’ve always thought highly of him and his talents and he’s proven time and time again, at whatever level, that he’s a winner.”
That’s pretty high praise coming from the 19-year NBA veteran, and it’s pretty cool to see the connection the two already share! We’re certainly hoping the relationship continues to bring a lot of success!

At Zona Zealots, we’re excited to see both Terrell and Jason in Tucson and can’t wait until the 2020-21 season! As always, Bear Down, Arizona!
