As our former Wildcats are still preparing for the now pushed out NBA Draft, Zeke Nnaji will work out with one of the best in Las Vegas!
Well, this year didn’t go quite as many had thought as the Arizona Basketball saw their season come to an end a bit earlier than anyone anticipated. One player I know I was excited to see in the NCAA Tournament was freshman post player, Zeke Nnaji.
The Minnesota native came bursting on to the scene, becoming not only Arizona’s best freshman, but the Pac-12 Conferences’ best freshman as well. In his lone season with the Wildcats, Zeke appeared in 32 games (all starts), averaging 16.1 points, 8.6 rebounds and 0.9 blocks per game.

Zeke played so well, that he will be heading to the NBA and will have a legitimate possibility to become a first round pick in the coming months. However, there is still work for him to get where he needs to be.
With the NBA Draft likely set for October, that’s a long ways for Zeke to prepare and in all honesty, get better as well. One way he is preparing is by working out with renowned NBA trainer, Joe Abunassar.
KSTP’s Darren Wolfson first reported the news over a week ago, and we are excited for Zeke.
Already Nnaji is getting some first round grades, with Sports Illustrated having him go No. 27 overall to the New York Knicks in their most recent mock draft for 2020.
However, the results are mixed. Some other publications having Zeke sliding to the early parts of the second round, so we will see at this point. Nonetheless, him getting the work in now with Joe will be hugely beneficial.
According to the NBA Draft Room, here’s what they had to say about our Wildcat:
"A mobile big who runs the floor well, has good hands and a nice scoring touch. Quick and athletic with good body control and ability to play above the rim. Can shoot from mid range and should develop an ability to stretch the floor and hit the 3.Shows a nice ability to guard in space but doesn’t project as a big time rim protector at the next level."
Either way, we hope Zeke can continue to prove himself and show why he is a worthy draft pick! Here’s just a reminder to us all how good he can be!
