With Arizona Football not getting much hype for 2020, one player who should be getting more praise is Tony Fields II, says one NFL Analyst.

We’ve got a ways to go until the 2020 Arizona Football season begins, and with there not being much hype heading into the season, I know fans are looking for something positive. Well look no further than senior-to-be linebacker, Tony Fields II.

Look, there’s no getting around the fact that there hasn’t been much to be optimistic about when it comes to Arizona Football. The team has been awful to say the least, compiling just a 9-15 record over the last two years, and things don’t look too encouraging for 2020 either.

Amid all those troubles, the largest focal point of the poor results has been the abysmal play of the defense. However, there have been a few bright spots here and there.

Senior-to-be linebacker Colin Schooler gets a lot of the attention and deservedly so, but somehow lost in that discussion is also Fields.

Originally a standout at the talented Desert Pines High School in Las Vegas, NV, Fields had committed to former head coach Rich Rodriguez and the Wildcats back in 2016, before joining the team as a true freshman in 2017.

And since first stepping foot on campus, he’s been a steady and solid contributor. In 2017, he totaled 104 tackles (65 solo), 7.5 tackles for loss, 5.0 sacks and an interception. In 2018, he did see his production dip a little, amassing just 89 tackles (58 solo), 4.5 tackles for loss and 2.0 sacks.

Last year, while Arizona still struggled defensively yet again, Fields was one of the few bright spots in that group, accounting for 94 tackles (58 solo), 5.0 tackles for loss, and 1.5 sacks.

So even amid the inconsistencies on the defense, Fields has been one of the few consistent pieces over the years, especially as he earned Freshman All-American honors in 2017, and he’s surely been one of the focal points of the defense lately.

Well, as the team heads into 2020, Tony will be a focal point of the defense yet again, and ESPN NFL Draft Analyst and NFL Scout Jim Nagy sees a lot of potential in Fields.

So much, that he thinks not many are talking about him when they should, and perhaps the 2021 NFL Draft could be in his sights! We tend to agree! Arizona has some players, and it’s time others start to take notice as well!

If you need a reminder of just how good Tony can be, look for yourself!
