Arizona Football has added another recruit for 2021, as this time they are bringing in recently converted tight end, Colby Powers.
Sometimes it takes a little bit of momentum to get going, and right now the Arizona Football team has a lot of it. Nearly two months ago when the Wildcats didn’t have any commits, they have been steadily on a roll since then, as they are now up to 10 commitments with the addition of Colby Powers on Friday evening!
A standout athlete in the class of 2021, Powers is actually a former quarterback turned tight end and is certainly a welcomed addition to the class!

Hailing from Klein Collins High School in Spring, TX, the three-star athlete took to social media on Friday evening, announcing his commitment to Arizona despite offers from; Colorado, New Mexico and UTSA among others!
While it’s hard to see the vision for Arizona as they add a tight end (a position seldomly used the past few years), it is apparent the Wildcats are looking to not only add athleticism, but size as well!
At 6-feet-4-inches and 235 pounds, Colby very much has the frame, but also the athleticism to be successful, as he very much is a two-sport athlete at Klein Collins High School. Colby also plays baseball, so having that versatility is always beneficial in my eyes.
Colby also intends to play baseball at the University of Arizona as well, and we are excited for him!
As we said, Colby was a quarterback at Klein Collins High School, throwing for 1,329 yards and seven touchdowns. Now he will use his size and athleticism to terrorize opposing secondaries!
He did play a little bit as a pass catcher before, so he does have some experience there, however, he does look quite natural. He shows good quickness off the line, uses his size to his advantage, putting himself in a position to make the play and possessing good body control.
He will be a solid addition for 2021!
At Zona Zealots, we’re excited for the addition of Colby and can’t wait to see how this class finishes! As alway, Bear Down Arizona!
