It’s been a crazy few weeks, and in case we needed a little more to worry about during this time, it’s that Arizona Women’s Basketball head coach Adia Barnes is a hot commodity.

Arizona Wildcats
While it doesn’t mean she will indeed take the job or that Adia even has interest, nonetheless, she is quickly becoming one of the hottest young names in coaching.
Naturally she could soon have her choice of offers as she continues to prove herself.
Of course as we all recall, she first got her chance as a head coach when she came back to Tucson, taking over a program that had been a bottom dweller in the Pac-10/12 for quite a few years.
Since then, she has totally rejuvenated the program. So much that in fact this past season, she helped guide the Wildcats to a 24-7 (12-6) record and was poised in leading Arizona to hosting the first round and potentially beyond in the NCAA Tournament. That is until Covid cut it short.
However, the best could still be in front of her. After a fantastic year, Barnes is expected to have one of the best teams in the country next season, especially as Aari McDonald is returning for her senior season.
So the upcoming 2020-21 season could truly be a special one!
Given her success thus far, you can clearly see why a school like Duke would want her. She recruits at a high level, has done a great job in coaching, and with time she could be one of the elite coaches at this level!
Arizona needs to do what they can to ensure they keep her for a long time!
