Arizona Athletics has plans to allow for international students to come
As the Covid crisis is having a major impact, all international recruits could see some issues in enrolling, however, Arizona Athletics has a plan.
Already nearing four months since Covid has really began to impact everything in the United States, and it seems like it’s not letting up either, especially for Arizona Athletics.
As you have already seen, it’s the increasing number of positive Covid cases, and it is becoming more and more evident that Fall sports could be in jeopardy.

Well if that wasn’t enough drama, there could be more to worry about now as all the international recruits that come to the University of Arizona could be in trouble too!
As noted by AZDesertSwarm’s Ryan Kelapire, he had mentioned yesterday, it’s that Arizona (and every other college) has to work through travel bans and a new ICE that could hurt them in not only coming here, but staying here as well.
That would certainly hurt Arizona Athletics and more specifically Arizona Basketball who currently have six international players committed in the class of 2020. Now granted the season could be delayed anyways, nonetheless having them come later wouldn’t help.
Luckily for us, the University of Arizona is already finding ways to stay ahead of this.
Announcing the news yesterday, it’s that the school intends to have enough on-campus classes that will provide the required eligibility for its international students to stay here in the U.S.
Thank goodness, as it would be really unfortunate to see international students, in particular the student athletes suffer!
As we mentioned, the Men’s Basketball has quite a few international recruits, and not having them here would be quite detrimental to 2020-21 season.
At Zona Zealots, we’re hoping this can be figured out and hope for our international students to be able to stay, even during the crazy, unprecedented times we are seeing! As always, Bear Down, Arizona!
