In need of some more positive recruiting news? How about Arizona Football adding a late 2020 signing in junior college corner, Isaiah Mays?

I know there haven’t been many positives to look to when it comes to Arizona Football, but there is some good news, as the Wildcats have added a late signing to the class of 2020, as they add junior college corner back, Isaiah Mays!

Making news via social media on Thursday afternoon, the University of Arizona Football took to social media, announcing the commitment and signing of Isaiah, and it is a good signing for a few reasons.

First off, he comes in on the defensive side, and should provide immediate depth at corner, but also at 6-feet-1-inch and 177 pounds, I love his size!

He hails from City College of San Francisco, and Isaiah chose Arizona despite also having an offer from Hawaii as well.

The late signing is surely a nice addition, and as we had said earlier, given Arizona’s need at defense, and needing more depth, can’t hurt in bringing in another talented body.

Prior to going the junior college route, Isaiah was a standout at Berkeley High School. Since then, he has developed into a division one talent. This past season, he put up decent numbers, totaling 23 tackles (one for a loss), with two picks, and seven passes broken up in nine games played.

On film he looks quite solid. He’s aggressive with receivers on the line of scrimmage, not shying from contact. He’s quick, shows fluid hips and breaks to the football well.

He is also quite versatile. He can line-up at corner, or also comes down as a safety too!

Biggest thing to me is he will need to improve his eye discipline. He sometimes gets caught not turning his head. At the collegiate level, he will need to get used to turning and looking back for the football, rather than just playing the football.

Just see for yourself!

Either way, we are excited about this commitment, and can’t wait to see what he can do! As always, Bear Down, Arizona!
