Another day, another commitment for the Arizona Football team as the Wildcats have flipped Northern Illinois commit and offensive lineman, Luke Eckardt.

Arizona Football is quickly filling up their recruiting class for 2021, as former Northern Illinois commit Luke Eckardt is the latest to join the Wildcat family and becomes the 16th commitment in the class.

Rated as a three-star tackle for 2021, Luke took to social media on Saturday evening making his announcement public. Picking the Wildcats over offers from; Northern Illinois, Arkansas State, Bowling Green and Eastern Michigan among others.

With Arizona in need of more depth along the offensive line, a commitment like this certainly makes sense, especially as Luke only becomes just the second offensive line commit, joining Southern California lineman, JT Hand.

Coming in as the No. 1,741 overall recruit in the class, Luke is considered to be the No. 150 overall tackle in the class, and the No. 48 overall player in the state of Illinois.

Standing a towering 6-feet-7-inches and weighing 265 pounds, he has a good frame with the ability to add more size. He is also a two-sport star at Richmond-Burton High School in Richmond, IL, which makes him a rather talented and versatile athlete along the offensive line.

What I particularly like about this commitment, is that I like Luke as an athlete. As stated he is a two-sport star, playing basketball, and given his athleticism, he fits nicely at tackle.

On film, he mostly lines up at left tackle, and shows good, raw skill. He is pretty quick for his size, he’s big, strong and excels mostly in the run game.

He could improve some of his footwork, as he sometimes does stutter with his first step, rather than having a clean get off, but overall, he does pack some power when he engages the defender and stays engaged with his man.

With continued development, he could be a solid lineman for the Wildcats! Just look what he was able to do last year!
