Level 1 sanctions are coming for Arizona Basketball says Dick Vitale
It’s more “doom and gloom” for Arizona Basketball as renowned basketball analyst Dick Vitale warns Level One sanctions are soon coming.
The end is near says basketball analyst Dick Vitale, or at least we can hope that there will finally be a resolution for the Arizona Basketball team.
In case you haven’t paid much attention the past three years, the Wildcat basketball team has had their fair share of drama due to the FBI Investigation.
Arizona Wildcats
I know that this investigation has been a major talking point from many publications including us for some time now, but we may be finally be getting closer to a resolution.
Already in the last three years, we’ve seen former associate head coach Emmanuel “Book” Richardson go to trial, be sentenced and also serve his full sentence.
So what about those massive sanctions coming? Don’t worry, they’re coming says Vitale.
The man who not only seemingly finds joy in seeing Arizona’s demise, but also loves to target Arizona in his sometimes incoherent and vitriolic Twitter rants.
So over the course of the investigation, both from the FBI and the NCAA, Dick has been warning Arizona fans that impending doom is coming. That Sean Miller has brought shame to the Wildcats and the Wildcat faithful, and that the NCAA will come down with the hammer any day now. That is any day now for the past 3-4 months…
Well on a podcast earlier this week called ‘1 Star Recruits’, Dick spoke at length covering many topics, one of which included the Wildcats and their status with the NCAA. Once again, Dick said Level One sanctions are coming.
Yes folks, level one sanctions in the next 2-3 weeks he says. That is from a reliable source of course.
Now look, I’m not trying to dismiss his claim, maybe he does have knowledge of when they’re coming, however, I also know he’s been saying that allegations will be coming in 2-3 weeks for quite some time now.
Also, I’m not denying that sanctions aren’t coming at all. While I don’t know the severity of the punishment, I also think you would have to be pretty naive to not think Arizona will receive any punishment at all.
The question is how serious will the actual sanctions be? Either way, regardless of the outcome, I would expect Arizona to possibly challenge the allegations, much like Kansas is doing now.
If Arizona can prove that they indeed established an environment of compliance, maybe they have a legitimate shot at fighting those allegations.
After all, what the FBI essentially proved was that Book basically went rogue and pocketed the money from Adidas. There wasn’t actually any proof that payment went to any players. So given those facts, how can the NCAA suggest Arizona did anything wrong, other than not having an environment of compliance?
Either way, we will be patiently waiting with bated breath until we finally get some closure on this matter. As always, Bear Down, Arizona!
