After deciding to transfer from the University of Arizona, linebacker Tony Fields II finally announces he will now be transferring to West Virginia.

It wasn’t that long ago that Arizona linebacker Tony Fields II took to social media announcing that he would be transferring from the University of Arizona.

And pretty quickly, he started gaining quite a bit of attention from numerous schools. Schools like Texas, West Virginia and Minnesota among numerous others.

Seeing his recruitment develop pretty quickly, it wasn’t long after that he sat down with 247Sports to announce his list of top schools, as well as discuss his decision to transfer even further.

Citing reasons like Arizona basically not being good enough, or him likely not seeing any progression this year, especially with a pandemic going on, those were a few reasons why he decided to transfer.

Initially, I will say I was pretty critical in how he worded it all, however, I still don’t blame him for transferring. After all, it’s his decision, and he deserves to find success, just like everyone else does.

Well finally after it being weeks since first announcing his decision to transfer, he has finally announced his school that he will be transferring to. Turns out that Tony will be heading to West Virginia.

Making his decision via social, he picked West Virginia despite also seriously considering offers from Texas and Minnesota as well.

So with the decision to play with the Mountaineers, interestingly enough he will be joining fellow former Wildcat, Scottie Young, Jr. as well as former Wildcat assistant coach, Jahmile Addae.

Being a productive three-year starter in Tucson, it’s likely he will come in and immediately play (assuming their is a college football season), and have his impact felt.

He has one year to prove himself even more in the hopes that he makes the NFL.
