Even though Deandre Ayton and the Phoenix Suns will miss the playoffs despite going 8-0 in the NBA, they showed the World that their future is bright!

Those that have been thirsting for sports have certainly had their appetites satiated, especially as the NBA restart has taken place inside the ‘Bubble’ in Orlando, Fla over the past few weeks. Now, if you have been paying attention to former Wildcat Deandre Ayton and the Phoenix Suns, you would likely have been delighted even more by what has transpired.

A team widely considered ‘dead in the water’ and unfit to be there before the restart, it was evident that the Suns came to Orlando ready to play.

Coming in, Ayton and the Suns intimated that they had felt slighted by the media, motivating them to not only change the negative perception surrounding their organization but to also make doubters into believers. Especially for those who felt Phoenix had no business in being there.

Well, fast forward to now, and the Suns were the only team to have gone a perfect 8-0 inside the ‘Bubble’ and were even within a breath of making the NBA Playoffs for the first time in 10 years. That is until Damian Lillard and the Portland Trailblazers came along and dashed their hopes.

So while the run might have been for naught in terms of the NBA Playoffs, what Ayton and the Suns showed over the past couple of weeks, was that the future in Phoenix is bright.

With a solid core of young players, and largely led by potential NBA superstar Devin Booker, the sky really is the limit!

Now granted, while I do think Ayton showed glimpses of greatness, he also showed that he still has a ways to go in terms of his development. Hopefully going 8-0 gave him a bit of motivation to put in more work this off-season to take another major step forward!

Here are some highlights from their game against the Indiana Pacers last week!
