With Covid rocking the college football world, it has even had its impact on Arizona Football, causing Colin Schooler and Brenden School to transfer.
Well, postponing Arizona Football was certainly not the outcome we wanted to see, but it is nonetheless an outcome that we could have perhaps foreseen. However, one thing I’m sure not many were anticipating is seeing brothers Colin Schooler and Brenden Schooler transferring from Arizona.
It has seemingly been a hellacious few weeks for the Wildcats, and things got a whole lot wilder as Brenden and Colin took to social media to announce they will be leaving Tucson.

While the outcome is unfortunate, perhaps it isn’t too surprising. Remember, it was just recently that the Schooler family expressed their desire to have their kids play this fall.
Risky? Perhaps, but it’s a risk that both kids are willing to take.
The move of course is assuming that they both want to spend their last season showcasing their talent in the hopes of making the NFL.
Also, please excuse the painfully obvious “truthism” here, but it’s a hell of a lot easier to showcase your talent when you get a chance to play, compared to when you don’t.
Well with the Pac-12 postponing all fall sports, you would have to think a mass exodus would happen sooner or later, and you certainly can’t blame Colin or Brenden for the failed leadership exhibited by the Conferences’ leadership during this crisis.
Now, if I may be ABUNDANTLY clear, the blame for the handling of Covid doesn’t fall on the shoulders of Arizona or head coach Kevin Sumlin. No, in fact Arizona and Sumlin deserve a ton of credit for taking this seriously and providing regular testing to its student-athletes.
Instead, the blame here falls squarely on the Pac-12, and them not having any sort of procedures or protocols in place. Maybe a postponement couldn’t have been entirely prevented, but I think had the conference handled this better, we might be in the same boat as the Big-12 currently.
At Zona Zealots, we wish Colin and Brenden the past and hope they find success wherever they go! As always, Bear Down, Arizona!
