It’s a great day for former Arizona Football star PJ Johnson, especially as the ex-Wildcat has officially signed with the Seattle Seahawks.

Who doesn’t love reading about good news, especially when it involves former Arizona Football players? Well, it’s even sweeter when it involves a player like PJ Johnson.

The beloved former defensive star who played with the Wildcats back in 2018, certainly made a big splash, winning the hearts of fans. Whether it was his competitive play, his passion for the game of football, or his amazing story, it was hard not to root for the kid.

Appearing in just nine games, Johnson totaled 31 tackles (22 solo), 8.5 tackles for loss, 3.0 sacks, two fumble recoveries as well as a forced fumble. But for him bigger things were on the horizon.

Looking to make a way for himself, Johnson decided to forego his senior season, bolting straight to the NFL and ultimately got drafted by the Detroit Lions in the 7th round with the 229th overall pick.

However, his tenure in Motown didn’t last long, as he was cut by the Lions just before the season started.

Since then, Johnson has bounced around, landing in Los Angeles with the Chargers back in December, before finally just being released over two weeks ago.

Well now it appears PJ is on the move again! Making news via social media on Tuesday afternoon, was that the Seattle Seahawks have decided to sign Johnson, and we are excited for him!

Now granted he has not yet appeared in an official NFL game, and the road here on out is daunting, but seeing him get a chance is good enough. Plus, it’s always great seeing a former Wildcat get their chance. For a kid like PJ, I’m sure that’s all he could ever ask for!
