The Arizona Football coaching staff stays busy this recruiting cycle, as the Wildcats adds three-star cornerback, Jakelyn Morgan.

Despite their being no fall 2020 Arizona Football season, Kevin Sumlin and the Wildcats program have been staying very busy this recruiting cycle, as Arizona adds yet another commitment in the class. This time it is Texas-based three-star cornerback, Jakelyn Morgan.

Making his announcement via social media on Thursday evening, Jakelyn actually becomes the the 22nd commitment in the class of 2021, after picking the Wildcats over offers from; UNLV, Hawaii, Arkansas State, New Mexico and Arizona among others.

Rated as a three-star corner in the class, Jakelyn is considered the No. 1,979 overall player in the class, and is the No. 290 overall player from the great state of Texas. He also becomes the 15th defensive commitment for the Cats.

In case it wasn’t clear now, the Wildcats are really focusing on retooling and revamping the defensive side of the ball. And aside from Arizona’s need on defense, the Wildcats certainly could use more help in the secondary, and I think Jakelyn does this.

Not just a standout football player from the talent-rich Tyler Legacy High School in Tyler, TX, Jakelyn is actually a two-sport start, also running track. He also comes in at a rather lengthy 6-feet-1-inch and 175 pounds, and from first glance, I love his overall size.

Additionally, I love the way he plays.

On film, Jakelyn has great length, and doesn’t shy from contact. He does a great job at jamming opposing receivers at the line. He possesses very fluid and flexible hips, being able to drop back into coverage.

He uses his body and length well, shows great eye discipline when reading the play, and does well in reacting and attacking the football. Overall, I feel he is a really solid corner with good instincts and playmaking ability!

Just watch for yourself!
