Following the unfortunate departure of Brandon Williams, luckily the Arizona Basketball team will be able to recover from his loss.

We’ve been speculating for quite some time what would happen to Arizona Basketball guard Brandon Williams, and after recently getting cleared medically, our Wildcat is going to turn pro.

Making his announcement via social media on Friday afternoon, Brandon announced his decision to play basketball professionally, which quashes all those that hoped for his return.

I know for months many have speculated what would happen to Brandon, especially as he sat out all of 2019-20 due to congenital knee injury he has been battling for a few years.

However, it seemed as if Sean Miller and the Wildcats likely knew that they would be without BWill in 2020-21 and beyond, especially as they brought in guards like James Akinjo via transfer and Kerr Kriisa in the class of 2021.

Additionally, the Wildcats filled all their active roster spots, which should have been a clear indication that Brandon was likely not returning.

Well now that door officially closes, and I couldn’t be happier for Brandon. He is a talented basketball player that had a terrific freshman season and it is unfortunate that his knee condition has surely hampered his development and more importantly his ability to play longer term in Tucson.

So while we don’t know how much time Brandon has left to play, seeing him get the opportunity to play professionally and earn some money in the process, is a good thing for him.

Now as for Arizona Basketball and where they go from here, they will be just fine. Again, it is unfortunate that the Wildcats will be without Brandon, but things happen and in Arizona’s case, they are used to players coming and going.

Luckily for us, I like the guards we have and think we have a really talented group that will help off-set Brandon leaving.

Just a reminder of how good he is, just watch!
