Does Arizona Basketball lead for 4-star guard, Shane Nowell?

Making headway in the recruiting class of 2021, the Arizona Basketball team is making a push for four-star guard, Shane Nowell. But do the Wildcats lead?

With already one commitment for the class of 2021, the Arizona Basketball is continuing to make headway on the recruiting trail with four-star guard Shane Nowell perhaps being their next target.

Even with the unfortunate news of Ben Gregg picking Gonzaga on Wednesday over offers from Arizona and Oregon, the show must go on for Sean Miller and Arizona, especially as they look to pick up additional players in the class of 2021.

Seemingly focusing on guards thus far, it makes sense why Shane is a big target of theirs moving forward.

Hailing from Eastside Catholic High School in Sammamish, WA, it seems that we can likely credit former Wildcat and newly acquired assistant coach Jason Terry for the connection on this one.

As we all know, Terry has great connections in the Pacific Northwest, and it seems to be paying off big time, as the Wildcats might be the perceived favorite in this recruitment.

Making news via social media, it was that the Wildcats picked up a 247Sports Crystal Ball prediction to land Nowell.

Shane already holds offers from Arizona, Oklahoma and Washington among others, and with him being ranked as the No. 81 overall player in the class, the No. 17 overall player for his position and the No. 4 overall player in the talented state of Washington, this would be a great addition for the Cats.

First off, he is a rangy and lengthy combo guard with good size, and at 6-feet-5-inches and 190 pounds, that is certainly the case. He also comes from a talented basketball family as well, as Shane is the younger brother to former Washington guard and current NBA player, Jaylen Nowell.

On film he looks good, and again, he has great size. Shane is a big guard with great playmaking ability, a high basketball IQ and great passing skills.

Just watch for yourself!

At Zona Zealots, we’re hopeful the Cats can close this one out as Shane looks like quite the player! As always, Bear Down, Arizona!
