Arizona Football has second worst facilities in the Pac-12
In case we needed more bad news this year regarding Arizona Football, how about learning that the Wildcats might have the second worst facilities in the Pac-12.
It has been a rather eventful year for Arizona Football and the Pac-12, especially as we all deal with the continued effects of Covid sidelining football this season.
And, in case we needed more bad news for us fans, how about learning that the Wildcats might have the second worst facilities in the Pac-12?
Arizona Wildcats
Well, in an article from West Coast College Football, they ranked the top football facilities in the conference, and coming in at No. 11 on the list, is the Arizona Football program.
What? How? After all that money that was invested in recent years to upgrade the facilities? Well, to me it is simple really, as what Arizona has done in recent years in terms of facility upgrades, were just necessary to put us on competitive footing with other schools.
While I have certainly been adamant about that point, hearing it from an outsiders perspective makes it sting a bit.
Now that isn’t to say that Arizona has bad facilities by any means, no, it just means that by comparison, we trail virtually every other program in the Conference.
The facility arms race is certainly a big one, and if you want to keep up with the Joneses, it takes money, money that the Wildcats don’t have.
Blame the poor revenue share deals of the Pac-12 if you will, but essentially what it boils down to is a vicious cycle, and one that gets a bit convoluted, when you look at Arizona Football’s financial woes.
The good news is that more improvements are coming, especially the school now looks to making improvements and renovations to the East Side of the stadium.
As you may recall, the Wildcats spent $60 million, improving parts to the West and East Side of the stadium, adding some more fan amenities, particularly in the Skybox Club, as well as the Student Section.
Here were some of those changes made!
At Zona Zealots, we’re hoping the Wildcats can continue to improve their facilities. As always, Bear Down, Arizona!
