Even though the Pac-12 and Arizona Football have made progress in returning to action, unfortunately still nothing is official as of yet.

Arizona Football is back! Well… almost. Despite the Pac-12 making great progress this past week in potentially getting the 2020 Football season back on track, nothing is official as of yet.

In case you haven’t been paying attention this week, the State of Oregon and California lifted some of their Covid bans and restrictions, giving the Pac-12 more freedom to get their season started. However, as we’re learning, there’s still a little ways to go.

While the bans and restrictions were a great start, the universal testing for all member schools won’t be available until the end of September, which is important to put in place before getting things started.

Additionally, the schools’ presidents still need to meet and vote. The Pac-12 CEO Group did meet on Friday, but unfortunately, no decision has been made as of yet.

As of now, the Pac-12 CEO Group is set to reconvene on Thursday, which is presumably when they will vote to restart the 2020 Football season.

However, what is seemingly being debated at this point, is the start date. As it stands, the prospective start is set for October 31, which would be the last Saturday of the month. Although November 7 is also a date being proposed as well.

The idea of course being, that the conference has all their “ducks” in a row, before starting. Those “ducks” being that the conference has not only proper but frequent Covid testing, giving Student-Athletes ample time to get guys in “shape” and also finalizing season schedules.

Also, if the Pac-12 hopes to have any chance of putting a team in the College Football National Playoff, time is of the essence, and it is important they they get them on the field as soon as possible, in order to still have a chance to compete.

For Arizona Football, now we just wait. We are the conferences’ mercy and whatever happens, happens. As always, Bear Down, Arizona!
