With the Arizona Football team about to kick-start their preparation for the 2020 season, head coach Kevin Sumlin will have to wait as he has contracted Covid-19.

In case we needed to add anymore bizarreness this off-season for Arizona Football, how about seeing head coach Kevin Sumlin contracting Covid-19 right before the seasons’ preparations are about to start?

Well, making news via Social Media on Monday afternoon was that Sumlin indeed contracted Covid, and I’d have to imagine that means he won’t be there when the Wildcats begin preparations for the season this Friday.

Already it has been a rather eventful off-season for Arizona, so why not add to the bizarreness of 2020?

From the numerous transfers, to the season postponement and re-installment of the 2020 season, this just adds to everything that has transgressed, and makes this a little challenging over the next few weeks.

As it stands, Arizona is not expected to do much this season, and are projected to win just one game, nonetheless, you don’t want to see your team not be at full strength, even if it is your head coach as well.

Arizona will kick off their season in just a month, so preparation is going to be paramount for this team in 2020. You just hope, that it doesn’t spread from here.

Luckily for us, the University of Arizona has done a rather commendable job in protecting their student athletes and coaching staffs around campus, but also providing regular testing and contact tracing.

The unfortunate thing however, is seeing coach Sumlin get it, and also that it will likely hold him out for the next week or so, until he is cleared to return to the team.
