With weeks to go until the start of the Arizona Basketball team, basketball analyst Joe Lunardi has Wildcats as a No. 9 seed in latest bracket.

Who is excited for Arizona Basketball this year? Well, at Zona Zealots, we certainly are as we are getting closer and closer to the start of the 2020-21 season!

Already we have seen a lot of action this off-season from the Wildcats, especially as Arizona lost virtually every starter from last year, and return just a few familiar faces. Outside of that, this is almost an entirely new group.

While normally that would be cause for concern for most programs, however for the Wildcats, this kind of turnover happens seemingly every year.

Luckily for us, we typically reload with fresh talent. And this year will certainly be no different as Sean Miller and the Wildcats brought in a lot of talent from overseas.

However, that also means expectations will fluctuate since it is always tough trying to rely on younger talent.

Already we have seen mixed criticisms and expectations regarding Arizona Basketball with some projecting the Wildcats to miss the NCAA Tournament.

However, Basketball analyst Joe Lunardi sees it a bit differently. Just like he does every year, he comes out with a pre-season NCAA Tournament projection, and appearing on his bracket is Arizona. Coming in as a No. 9 seed, Lunardi has Arizona playing No. 8 seed Syracuse in the First Round in the West Region.

Certainly reasonable, given all the turnover the Wildcats have seen this off-season. And this is a team that could potentially surprise some people too.

In my opinion, I feel the Wildcats will likely be led by the combination of incoming transfers James Akinjo and Jordan Brown this year, and incoming freshmen Azuolas Tubelis, Kerr Kriisa and Ben Mathurin as well.

To me, even with the expectations being mixed this year, this team still has a lot of potential, and could be a group that could surprise fans and analysts.
