Former Arizona Football walk-on Josh McCauley makes Rimington Watch List
With the 2020 Arizona Football season nearly here, former walk-on Josh McCauley is drawing lots of praise as he makes the Rimington Award Watch List.
In an off-season that has seemingly brought a lot of bad news for the Arizona Football team, at least there is some good news as former walk-on Josh McCauley has been named to the Rimington Award Watch List.
Typically awarded to college footballs’ top center, Josh was named to the watch list on Wednesday afternoon, and that news alone should bring joy to many Arizona fans.
Arizona Wildcats
For those that don’t remember, Josh was the former walk-on Center who quickly became a star after hailing from Red Mountain High School in Mesa, AZ.
Despite redshirting in 2016, Josh made his first collegiate appearance in 2017, and has never seemed to look back, even earning a Scholarship along the way!
Well fast forward to now, and Josh will still be one of the few bright spots on this team. Even amidst Arizona’s ineptitude these past two seasons, he has helped to bolster a Wildcat offensive group that has put up some of the best rushing numbers in not only the Pac-12 but in College Football!
Heading into 2020, the redshirt senior is poised for yet another huge season, as he will once again be one of Arizona’s better offensive linemen this season. Luckily for us, college pundits seem to agree with that notion as well… look no further than him making the Rimington Watch List.
And despite the inconsistencies from this team, Josh has become a staple along Arizona’s offensive line, giving us many great moments, including this one…
On offense, the Wildcats will have the talent to score, and may need to lean on not only strong play from their skilled positions but their offensive linemen as well! We just know that when called upon, Josh will be ready!
At Zona Zealots, we’re happy for Josh and can’t wait to see what he can do in 2020! As always, Bear Down, Arizona!
