Pac-12 approves for family to come to games this Fall
The Pac-12 has had a change of heart as they voted on Wednesday afternoon to allow for family members to be able to attend games this Fall!
With 2020 being an unprecedented year for virtually everyone, we may be finally seeing a bit of normalcy this coming football season, as the Pac-12 has voted to allow family members to come to games this Fall.
The news came on Wednesday afternoon and it is certainly a big development for Fall Sports. And in a year that has been a rather unique one, seeing family being able to attend games is a good thing.
Arizona Wildcats
Remember, it was just weeks ago that the Pac-12 decided to reinstate the 2020 Football season. However, it was under the condition that there would be no fans in attendance this year. Well, perhaps luckily for us, that will now change.
According to Justin Spears with the Arizona Daily Star, the decision was made after “Sahaja Douglass, the mother of USC sophomore offensive lineman Liam Douglass, submitted a petition to the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors.”
With that successful petition from Mrs. Douglass, that essentially got the ball rolling for the Pac-12 in allowing family members to come to games.
While there is still a long ways to go in terms of getting every fan possible back to games, this is certainly a great first step in getting to that achieved goal.
However, it is important to note, that even with family in attendance, schools and those in attendance will still have to adhere to state and local regulations.
For Arizona, this will be a great move, especially as they could use all the support they can get this season.
The Wildcats typically play better at home, than when they do on the road, so giving the program any little edge possible is a good thing in my opinion.
At Zona Zealots, we’re excited about the upcoming season and can’t wait to see what the Wildcats are able to do! As always, Bear Down, Arizona!
