In his post-practice interview on Monday evening, Arizona Football wide receiver Jamarye Joiner may have played on an injured foot during the 2019 season.

If there isn’t much to be excited about from fans for Arizona Football in 2020, then perhaps fans should be excited about returning receiver, Jamarye Joiner.

For those that didn’t pay attention much to the 2019 season, and hey, who can blame you, then you missed the play of Joiner, one of the few bright spots from last year.

In his first full season after converting to receiver, Joiner has 34 receptions for 552 yards with five touchdowns. Not bad, when you consider he was just his first season at the position.

Well, in his post-practice interview on Monday evening, it is that his season was perhaps even more impressive than we thought, especially as the redshirt sophomore may have played injured.

In case you forgot, Jamarye underwent surgery on a Jones Fracture in his foot just months ago, which ultimately may have been brought on by discomfort he felt this season.

The sophomore receiver believed the foot injury may have happened last season, especially as he continued to play while “breaking in new cleats”.

Well, luckily for us, since having his surgery this off-season, Joiner is now 100 percent. And if there are any silver linings with having a delayed football season, it is that the extra time gave Jamarye more time to recover.

In Joiner’s interview with Arizona Dailey Stars’ Justin Spears, it is that “he would’ve been 60% healthy if the season started on time.”

I know with there not being much to look forward to when it comes to Arizona Football this season, I assure you having a healthy Joiner alongside a talented Grant Gunnell at quarterback is a very positive thing to look forward too.

Arizona may not have a ton of NFL-level talent, but in my biased opinion, Jamarye may just possess that kind of talent.
