With rival ASU dropping a few football recruits in the class of 2021, I break down why I think the Arizona Football team should step in to recruit them.

Who doesn’t love rivalry smack, especially when it is to the demise of Arizona Football rival, ASU? Well, in case you didn’t see the other day, the Sun Devils actually dropped a few recruits in the class of 2021.

Now granted, it is hard to decipher exactly why ASU and Herm Edwards dropped three players, but nonetheless you cannot help but deny that the optics are bad.

Whether it was due to personal reasons not worth diving into, or as a direct result to ASU needing more room for higher ranked players, who knows, and to be honest there’s really no reason to speculate either.

However, I will say that with the recent recruiting news, I feel this would be a perfect opportunity for Kevin Sumlin and the Wildcats and step in.

Now does that mean Arizona would be a great fit for these players? No not necessarily, but all I can say is that this is the type of thing that can burn bridges with high school coaches and create a negative perception for your program.

As it stands, there is no doubt that ASU has all the momentum in the rivalry currently. From recruiting, to coaching, overall results and head-to-head results, it is apparent that Arizona could use all the help they can get at this point.

Also, given that this is an intense rivalry, and one that could be sparked any sort of bulletin board-type material, it seems like if Arizona were to bring in these former ASU commits who were dropped by their program, it would generate an extra bit of intrigue to this rivalry.

Additionally, it wouldn’t be interesting to see if these players would be motivated even more in this rivalry after being turned away by ASU.
