Former Wildcat Scooby Wright transitions career to MMA?

Following a football career where he bounced around, former Wildcat Scooby Wright seems to have maybe transitioned his career to MMA.

Former Wildcat Scooby Wright has had a strange and interesting career thus far. From being a lowly rated recruit out of high to eventual college star and seventh round draft pick, Scooby has had an interesting journey to say the least.

Ever since coming to Tucson, it seemed as if he was destined not only for stardom. Driven by hard work, Scooby certainly had the motivation to succeed despite all the odds against him.

Unfortunately for him, things did not quite work out for Scooby in the NFL, as he bounced around from practice squad to practice squad. He then turned his efforts to the AFL and XFL leagues, which unfortunately did not work out either as they both failed.

Never finding a permanent home in football in his life post Arizona, it seems new things may be on the horizon for the former Arizona star.

Based on his Instagram ‘seventhroundscoob’, it looks like Scooby has been training and putting in work to do some Mixed Martial Arts and Kickboxing-style Fighting.

While it is hard to give up on your dreams, especially for a player like Scooby who gave so much to the game of football and dedicated himself to being successful, it seems the former Wildcat star is already finding success in his new venture.

Participating in his first fight on Sunday, Scooby took to Social Media to announce that he won his first official fight after spending ample time preparing and training to transition to the new sport.

While it has been difficult to find any details regarding what it is Scooby has actually been doing, it looks interesting, and we are certainly excited for him. Scooby was always a great representation of the University of Arizona and we wish him well! As always Bear Down, Arizona!
