With Sean Miller and the Wildcats still hitting the recruiting trail hard for 2021, Arizona Basketball has picked-up a commitment from four-star guard, Shane Nowell.

What’s better than having one Shane committed in the class of 2021? Well, that would be having two Shane’s of course! Continuing their hot recruiting start, Sean Miller and the Arizona Basketball team added another commitment for 2021, this time it is four-star guard, Shane Nowell.

Making his announcement via social media on Saturday, Shane picked Arizona over offers from Washington, Oklahoma and Washington State among others. Becoming the Wildcats’ third commitment for 2021, this is surely a solid addition.

Coming in as the No. 85 player overall in the class, Shane is a standout shooting guard from Eastside Catholic High School in Sammamish, WA, and you have to think Jason Terry had something to do with this commitment.

Being a Pacific Northwest native himself, Terry has a lot of connections in that area, and is a well-respected figure. So naturally, it makes since that Arizona is making some in roads on the recruiting trail here, and to me it is a smart move, as the SeaTac area has produced some great basketball players.

Standing a lengthy 6-feet-5-inches and 190 pounds, he has great size for his position, and with his length and athleticism, it will allow the Wildcats to play him at the two/three position.

Joining fellow commits K.J. Simpson and Shane Dezonie, Nowell will fit well as Arizona looks to use more guards and wings.

Shane is promising young basketball player, that comes from good lineage, as his older brother Jaylen was drafted into the NBA in 2019 Draft out of Washington. He is also a solid on-ball defender that is able this length to his advantage.

Additionally, he is a plus shooter that has range that extends beyond the three-point line, and he is also a tenacious rebounder. From the looks of it, the Wildcats got a good one!

Here are some of Shane’s recent highlights from the Grassroots Showcase!
