With the 2020 NBA Draft now over, and all three Wildcat freshmen being drafted, Zeke Nnaji found a good landing spot with the Denver Nuggets.

It has been an eventful 48 hours for former Wildcat Zeke Nnaji as he had his name called early in the 2020 Draft, going No. 22 overall to the Denver Nuggets.

Coming into the draft, there was plenty of hype surrounding the Arizona big man. Prior to hitting the college scene, Zeke was just a four-star recruit with the likelihood of potentially being a multi-year player for the Cats.

However, as soon as he stepped foot on campus, it was apparent he had bigger plans in mind.

It was pretty quick that Zeke cemented himself as being Arizona’s best freshman in the loaded 2019 recruiting class. You know, the recruiting class that also featured star-studded players like Nico Mannion and Josh Green.

Eventually being named the Pac-12 Freshman of the Year, Zeke then decided to take his talents to the NBA, his ultimate dream. From then on, it was just a matter of where he would land.

Mostly receiving draft grades that had him going in the last first, to early second round, it was his work ethic, impressive workouts and high potential that pushed scouts over the edge.

Well come Wednesday night, it didn’t take long for a team to jump on him. With the 22nd overall pick, the Denver Nuggets liked what they saw and decided to draft Zeke.

Joining a talented group that features players like Nikola Jokić, Jamal Murray, Will Barton, and Jerami Grant among others, he is going to provide immediate depth to the Nuggets, and given his play making ability in the post, he is going to be a great addition for Denver.

He is the perfect compliment to Nikola and he will add more size to an already big line-up for Denver. Plus, with Zeke recently showing off his range that now extends to the three-point line, he could be used as bit of a stretch-four.

Lastly, as we saw last season, it is that Zeke is an absolute spark plug that often energized the Wildcats. If he can bring that electricity to Denver, they are going to fall in love with him, just like we did!
