With the NFL Season continuing to progress this year, former Wildcats PJ Johnson and Reggie Gilbert have found new homes with different teams.

We are now in Week 12 of the 2020 Covid-riddled NFL Season, and you have been paying attention, there has been a lot of roster turnover and attrition this year. Because of that, former Wildcats PJ Johnson and Reggie Gilbert are benefitting from it.

Not to celebrate the demise of others, but you can’t help deny that it is great to see former Wildcats succeed at the professional level. And in case you missed it, on Tuesday afternoon it was announced that both players would be signing contracts.

Johnson, who still hadn’t been signed by any team since getting cut by the Seattle Seahawks, will now be heading to the Arizona Cardinals. A veteran defensive lineman who has mostly bounced around as a practice squad player, he was signed to Arizona’s practice squad on Tuesday.

And given the Cardinals’ injuries and needs along the defensive line, he will have a great shot here at potentially moving up to the active roster. Also, with the Cardinals currently being 6-4 with a possible chance at making the playoffs, PJ getting the chance to compete is great for him.

As for Reggie, it has been surprising that the veteran linebacker hasn’t been signed yet. After starring with the Green Bay Packers and Tennessee Titans, Reggie has had a sizeable impact, totaling 62 tackles (42 solo), 6.0 tackles for loss, and 4.5 sacks in three seasons.

Well, now Reggie is going to the Jacksonville Jaguars, as it was announced he was signed to their active roster! After once being a solid defensive group, the veteran NFL player will provide instant depth.

The Jaguars are currently 1-9 with a defense that ranks near the bottom in the NFL. Adding a player like Gilbert can only help.
