With UTEP being the second cancellation of the 2020-21 Arizona Basketball season, the Wildcats will now prepare for a Covid-riddled, Colorado Basketball squad.

Barely just a few days into the 2020-21 season, and already the Arizona Basketball team has seen more cancellations than they have games, as UTEP is the most recent team to be severely impacted by the Corona Virus.

Alas, the show goes on in the Pandemic-plagued season for the Wildcats, as they will have to just roll with the punches so to speak his year.

Either way, with the UTEP game cancelled, Arizona will now have to prepare for their December 2 game against a talented Colorado Buffaloes team (2-0). However, perhaps fortunately for the Wildcats, Colorado will be coming to Tucson, a bit under manned.

Making news on Friday afternoon, was that Colorado will be without D’Shawn Schwartz, Keeshawn Barthelemy, and Tristan da Silva, as their head coach, Tad Boyle confirmed. All three will have to sit out a minimum of 14 days due to Contract Tracing rules.

With Arizona still down Kerr Kriisa, Daniel Batcho, and perhaps Ira Lee, this isn’t necessarily a bad thing for our sakes, and gives the Cats more of a fighting chance here.

Coming in, Colorado is a good team that is undoubtedly led by senior guard, McKinley Wright IV, as well as wings Jeriah Horne, Maddox Daniels and Jabari Walker among others. This is a veteran group with a lot of size and length, and they are an experienced team that will challenge the Cats.

This offense goes through Wright, and through two games, the senior is averaging a very impressive 22.0 points, 4.0 rebounds and 5.5 assists per game.

Colorado is a good offensive team, and they are very well-balanced. They run more up tempo, which typically matches Arizona’s style, but the Cats still trying to settle their rotation, and find more scoring options outside of Jordan Brown and James Akinjo, and this one could turn into a bit of a back and forth game.

Arizona will need to settle their offense, work for good looks and shots and work the post with Brown.

This game should be an intriguing one to watch and we can’t wait to see how the Wildcats match-up. As always, Bear Down, Arizona!
