Already a week into the season and Arizona Basketball struggles to find opponents as other teams fail to meet protocols from the NCAA.

Where is the plan? That is what most Arizona Basketball fans are seemingly asking themselves, as the team has seen their third cancellation in the past week.

Before the season even starting, the NCAA and numerous Conferences around the country had a long time to figure out how this will all play out, and they failed to do so. They also knew exactly the challenges they were facing, as many professional leagues and College Football have been navigating through the same challenges.

Here we are as a program, just barely a week into the young season, and only one game has been played out of a possible four come Wednesday evening, have been played. The numerous cancellations thus far have been leaving fans searching for answers, the most recent being Colorado.

Sean Miller, his staff, and the school have done an amazing job at keeping their players healthy and following the protocols from the NCAA during this COVID-19 pandemic.

And it has been rumored that the Arizona Basketball team is up at 4:30 am in order to get tested every day. The dedication that these coaches and players are putting in is second to none, and the seriousness in which they are taking this pandemic is very commendable. Now if only other teams and conferences could follow suit.

The fact that they have only been rewarded with one game is sad, depressing, and outright just wrong. It makes fans want to pull their hair out or throw their hands up in the air out of frustration. If we as a fan base feel this way, just imagine how the players feel?

That is why it is time to make changes at the high levels of college sports. We have seen enough to know that they are never prepared and seemingly fail us on the most basic levels. Example A: having a back-up plan scheduling wise, knowing darn well there was going to be numerous positive tests this college basketball season.

Instead, their incompetence has cost many Student-Athletes a chance to play the game they love. The game that some travel across the country just to get a chance to play.

Not to mention those who are trying to pursue a career in professional basketball in order to make a living. Instead, most of them put have been putting in the effort and have not gained any of the benefits. All thanks to the lack of organization from the NCAA and other conferences around the country, not just the PAC-12.

What does this all mean for the Wildcats and other programs around the country? That is the question at large right now. One thing is for sure the NCAA committee that selects the teams for March Madness is going to have one tough time deciding on teams who might have only played ten games.

Next. ZZ: More basketball coverage. dark

For now the Arizona Basketball program and their fans can take pride in knowing that their team is taking the right measures to take to the court each game day. We can all hope that other teams not only in the Pac-12, can start taking this more seriously. They need to do it soon, or this season will soon go down the drain. As always Wildcat fans, Bear Down and GO CATS!
