Arizona Football unveils Military Appreciation unis
With the game against the Colorado Buffaloes quickly approaching, the Arizona Football team unveils their Military Appreciation unis ahead of Saturday!
Please excuse the brutally obvious here, but the 2020 Arizona Football season has not exactly gone the way that many had hoped. With the team currently winless, and facing a real possibility of going winless this year, what positive things can fans look forward to?
Well, how about some new uniforms to help brighten our spirits a bit?
Arizona Wildcats
Making news via Social Media on Thursday evening, the Arizona Football program announced that come this Saturday versus the Colorado Buffaloes, the Wildcats are going to be wearing Military Appreciation Uniforms.
Starting with the helmet, it will be their flat blue helmet, with the standard, red, white, and blue Arizona Logo, complimented with a blue facemask. On the rear of the helmet will feature a DM Airforce Base sticker, an ode to local, Davis-Monthan Air Force Base, which is roughly just nine miles from campus.
The jersey will be Battle Gray and will have the typical red/blue stripes on the shoulder with bolded blue lettering, and the number will be outlined in white. The pants will also be Battle Gray and will feature the Arizona ‘A’ logo.
The move is certainly a good one by the University, who typically has a Military Appreciation game every year anyway. With the 2020 season not being able to feature fans, what a perfect way to Honor our Military Service Men and Women.
Tucson is very much a Military town with Davis-Monthan being so close and let’s not forget Ft. Huachuca which is just South of us as well. With a community so entrenched in Military Service, this seems apropos for the school to do.
I mean, just look how sharp these are!
know I may be a bit biased here since I have had family that has served, but this is a great move by the University and I hope it is something they continue to do moving forward. And hopefully, it also helps in producing a win! As always, Bear Down, Arizona!
