Nothing sums up the current state of Arizona Football any better like giving up 300 yards rushing and creating three turnovers, but still losing 24-13.

Colorado ran over, around and through the Arizona Football defense last night, accumulating over 300 yards on the ground, as the Wildcats now fall to 0-4 (0-4) on the season, and have now lost 11-straight games.

Things in Tucson are heating up, and no I’m not talking about the weather, because we are clearly moving from the autumnal equinox to the winter solstice.

No, in fact, the Wildcats are in real danger of going winless this year, and you have to think that means the hot seat for head coach Kevin Sumlin is scorching, or at least so you hope.

Despite outscoring opponents 17-3 in the first quarter of the last two games, unfortunately it still has accounted for two losses, which is absolutely gutting as not only a player, but as fans who are certainly at their wits end.

With quarterback Grant Gunnell still out due to injury, naturally the Wildcats gave the nod to freshman signal caller Will Plummer in this one, hoping to spark the offense and maybe even deliver their first win.

And from the start, things looked promising, especially as Arizona climbed out to a 13-0 lead! However, as we all saw, the offense went stagnant, and the defense had a hard time controlling Colorado running back Jarek Broussard, as he ran for 301 yards on 25 carries, the most that Arizona Football has ever given up against a single player.

On Saturday night, whatever the Buffaloes wanted to do on the ground, they did it, and were also highly successful doing it too.

Additionally, it was Arizona’s offense that couldn’t sustain their early success. The offensive line still mostly struggled, the play calling got stagnant, and again after taking a 13-0 lead, Arizona couldn’t score again after that.

Perhaps not surprisingly to us, it resulted in the same thing, another loss.

With their game against the ASU Sun Devils looming, it looks like it is going to be a battle of the two winless teams in the conference this coming weekend, and there is a definite possibility the Cats could go winless.

At Zona Zealots, we’re just hoping the Wildcats can finish the season on a high note, but for now we sulk. As always, Bear Down, Arizona!
