Coming away with a grind it out victory over Eastern Washington, the 70-67 win for Arizona Basketball (2-0) reminds fans to have patience this year.

A win is a win, no matter which way you slice it up, even though Arizona Basketball could have and should have played a bit better against Eastern Washington. Luckily for us, the Wildcats did just that, winning 70-67 and improving to 2-0 on the season.

Freshman forward Azoulas Tubelis had a big impact in this one, scoring 13 points and grabbing nine rebounds, and senior Ira Lee made his presence felt in his first game back from injury, adding seven points and eight rebounds of his own, even making a few key, defensive plays.

The win wasn’t a pretty one, however, at the end of the day, Arizona still got the job done, and for a team that is still breaking in an entirely new roster, and has played only two games out of a possible five thus far, you take the wins any way you can.

Granted this is all new territory for Arizona Basketball fans, especially since the Arizona Basketball program has seen immense success over the years, and has set the standard and bar so high.

However, these are unprecedented times and again, it is something we are all adjusting to.

With the team having little time to play and gel with each other, fans need to keep in mind, this could be a year in which the Wildcats don’t meet those lofty expectations we normally have. And more so, it is going to demand patience, and more importantly support, from our fans.

McKale Center will likely be empty all year, nonetheless, support will still be paramount regardless. This is a team that will still need time in adjusting and playing with each other, and they will improve throughout the season.

I know this is Arizona Basketball, and we aren’t used to rebuilds, but remember, Arizona has the dark looming cloud over that program that are the NCAA Allegations, plus, Sean Miller could be reverting to his Xavier days. We have no marquee players, but a bunch of hard-working kids who play a bit with a chip on their shoulder.
