TUCSON, AZ – Just days after routing the Lumberjacks, the Arizona Basketball team used another sharp-shooting performance in their 85-60 win over CSU Bakersfield.

Four games into the 2020-21 Arizona Basketball season and the Wildcats are victors in all four games, their most recent coming in an 85-60 win over CSU Bakersfield.

It was truly a complete team performance, however, the Wildcats were sparked by the play of Senior transfer, Terrell Brown, who finished his day with 16 points on 5-10 shooting (4-8 from three). Ben Mathurin and Jemarl Baker, both scored 15 points each respectively, going a combined 5-10 from beyond the arc.

Propelled by a great defensive and offensive effort in the first half, Arizona came out focused, carrying over the success from their miraculous performance from Monday evening.

Granted the competition has been meek, to say the least so far, however, with a brand new roster and rotation, we said it would take some time for this team to get going, and using these “easier” games to establish our confidence early would be important.

Luckily, it seems this team is finding their rhythm, and with good timing too, especially as Pac-12 play is soon looming.

Through the four games so far, it seems we are seeing a mix of who is the go-to scorer. While James Akinjo and Jordan Brown are the presumptive leaders, however, as we’ve seen so far, Baker, Brown, Mathurin, and Azoulas Tubelis also have the ability to break out on any given night.

And just as we saw in the 85-60 win over the visiting Roadrunners on Wednesday evening, Arizona had numerous players involved, which is a good sign for the program moving forward.

As the team now improves to 4-0 on the season, we will now have to wait until Saturday when they assumedly take on UTEP in Tucson.
