The Arizona Women’s Basketball team continued their hot streak, beating Colorado and overcoming another double-digit deficit.

It is no secret that 2020 has been a stellar year so far for the Arizona Women’s Basketball team this year, as they are now 5-0 this year, 4-0 in the Pac-12. But the Wildcats aren’t just winning, they’re winning impressively.

On Friday, the Wildcats won 62-59 against Colorado, and it was the Wildcats’ third win after trailing by double-digits. The other two wins came against UCLA and USC.

Trailing by as many as 12 in the third quarter, the No. 6 ranked Wildcats pulled off an impressive rally, getting contributions from everyone.

Aari McDonald was once again very impressive.

Senior guard Aari McDonald continues to make a case as to why she should be the National Player of the year in 2020. McDonald once again led the Cats in scoring with 24 points against the Buffaloes, including the game-clinching free-throws.

Of course, basketball is a team sport and there have been plenty of contributions from the entire team this season.

Although she had a low scoring game, Trinity Baptiste made a critical play.

Trinity Baptiste has played a key role for the Wildcats this season, and even though she didn’t score a lot of points against the Buffaloes, she made a key play late in the game.

With just under six minutes left in the game, Baptiste made a huge layup to pull Arizona within three. This was just one of the many critical plays she has had all season, whether it has been layups or key rebounds she has been a key part of the Cats’ success.

It is one thing to play well, but to play well in these circumstances, is another thing entirely.

It is no secret that 2020 has been a tough year for everyone particularly with the coronavirus, it has certainly affected the sports world. So the fact that the Wildcats have been able to overcome all these circumstances is truly remarkable.
