With news that we’ve all been patiently waiting for, Estonian guard Kerr Kriisa will finally be eligible for Arizona Basketball in February.
It has been a long road for Arizona Basketball guard Kerr Kriisa these past few months. Traveling thousands of miles to come to Tucson, Kerr has been waiting for his opportunity to shine with Arizona.
A young and talented guard that hails from Estonia, Kerr always seemingly had a fondness for Arizona Basketball, and it was a goal to potentially one day play for the Wildcats.

Well, after his commitment to the Cats back in April, by all intents, it looked promising when he arrived on campus this Summer.
However, the only thing is that because he played Semi-Professionally in Europe, there were some concerns regarding his eligibility when he first came here.
And just as we had feared, with the ever-inconsistent NCAA, naturally, they decided to pause on clearing him, with no definite timeline known. Well, after waiting and waiting for an announcement, finally the NCAA came to a decision.
Making news via social media on Monday, it was announced that Kerr will be eligible to play in his first college game against Colorado on February 6, missing 70 percent of the 2020-21 season.
Where did they come up with this figure? Who knows, especially when you consider that other players in college basketball with similar backgrounds have had no issues with the NCAA Clearinghouse.
Unfortunately for Kerr, he has to miss a majority of the season for what exactly? Call me biased, but it doesn’t seem as if there is any consistency across the board.
Either way, at least Kerr will finally be eligible here soon, and given that it’ll be in the thick of the season, it will be great to see him play when that time comes. He could be a special player.
In case you need a reminder of how good he can be, here you go…
At Zona Zealots, we’re excited for Kerr and are hoping for big things from him this season! As always, Bear Down, Arizona!
