Arizona Football: Don Brown to bring intensity and effort
As Don Brown was introduced as the Arizona Football Defensive Coordinator, Coach Brown breaks down his philosophy and vision for 2021.
Things are getting exciting in Tucson, as Don Brown has now been officially introduced as the Arizona Football defensive coordinator.
With the Wildcats already building towards next year, that means Coach Brown will have the challenge of revamping and rebuilding a defense that finished 116th last year and has finished near the bottom in College Football for about the last 5-plus years.

Coming in, he is already aware of the challenge ahead, and in his first major interview since being hired, he spoke with Arizona Daily Star’s Michael Lev at length regarding his coaching philosophy and background.
The biggest thing to look forward to is his outlook and perspective on the 2021 season.
"“First off, I don’t live in the past; I live in the present. I have a style and a way to go about teaching my guys. I just stay true to myself, true to our concepts,” he said.“Coach has blessed me with a great defensive staff. We’ve just got to put our heads together, be positive, and attack every day, get our guys coached up as fast as we can.”"
For someone with over 35 years of coaching experience in Football and in Baseball, luckily the Wildcats have someone with the track record that Coach Brown has.
His philosophy of blitzing, running to the football, and coaching up his players is exactly what the doctor ordered. Luckily, we have our own Doctor, Dr. Blitz as he is aptly known.
Coming in, he will have some solid defensive pieces to work with, but the question is can he help develop and coach these guys enough, that we will see a significantly improved product from what we’ve recently seen.
For those that are curious to know what Coach Brown brings, this is just a small preview of what he brings. (*Warning, video contains profanity).
At Zona Zealots, we are excited to see what Coach Brown brings to Tucson, as always, Bear Down, Arizona!
