Arizona Football WR Ma’Jon Wright is transferring again
After flirting with the idea of transferring, Arizona Football Wide Receiver Ma’Jon Wright has officially entered the transfer portal yet again.
Just as it looked like the Arizona Football program had some positive momentum heading into the off-season, as we all learned on Wednesday evening, it is that the Wildcats will take a slight step back with star Wide Receiver Ma’Jon Wright heading into the Transfer Portal again.
Making his announcement via social media, Ma’Jon announced he will be transferring from the University of Arizona, and this is a major loss.
Arizona Wildcats
As you may recall, the Fort Lauderdale, FL native initially announced he would be transferring from the program nearly a month ago, but head coach Jedd Fisch did wonders in his first weeks on the job as he convinced the budding star to return.
Unfortunately, as we all know now, that feeling of joy was only temporary.
Despite Arizona’s struggles this past year, Ma’Jon was one of the few bright spots on the team, especially as he finished the year with 15 receptions for 176 yards and a touchdown in the abbreviated 2020 season.
His future in the sport is very bright, and again the loss will be significant for the Wildcats. Luckily for us, Arizona does have a solid corps of receivers in Jamarye Joiner, Boobie Curry, and Stanley Berryhill III that are all returning (thanks, Coach Fisch).
The question now is who will be a quarterback to throw to such a talented group? As it stands, the Wildcats have just Will Plummer and Kevin Doyle returning under center, with no incoming commits or transfers.
Arizona has the talent to move the ball next year, but the staff is going to have to pull off another miracle in bringing in a signal-caller to lead us.
As for Ma’Jon, we wish him the best and hope he finds a program that will be a good fit for him. As always, Bear Down, Arizona!
