Already a month on the job and Arizona Football head coach Jedd Fisch has proven me wrong, and I completely recant my criticisms.

Let’s me take you back to that day when Arizona Football was on the brink of hiring a new head coach. I know, I for one had a coach in mind that I wanted to lead this program. Then news broke that Jedd Fisch was the man for the job and it didn’t take me long, nor others to express my anger on social media about the hiring.

Well, I am here today to take back those words aka eat crow because Coach Fisch you have won me over!

First Coach, you came in and got right to work! Taking over a heap of a program that just endured a 70-7 drubbing to our arch-rivals.

You implemented the slogan “It’s Personal”, and it suits this program beautifully, especially after the demoralizing season we just had. Not to mention finishing the year without a single one for the first time in program history. So, I agree Coach, it is personal and we need to treat it that way

To me, there is no better way to reinforce the new slogan “It’s Personal”, like bringing in two legendary Wildcats, who are well known and admired among Arizona Football fans everywhere. Those two embody the Arizona Football spirit, and they know what it takes to be great.

Ricky Hunley and Chuck Cecil are back with the family, and the moves certainly help repair the seemingly fractured relationship between the head coach and the alumni.

Not to mention, you bring in other coaches with deep NFL ties, and top-notch programs like Alabama and Michigan, who know what it takes to take a program to the top.

Never would I have thought to see the day we steal a coach from Nick Saban and the Crimson Tide. Thank you for accomplishing that milestone just days into being hired.

Next, Coach, you stuck to your word by starting to build a relationship with the in-state football programs. Never have I seen a coach put this much effort into in-state recruiting. I applaud your efforts and once again I am schooled in disbelief at how quickly all this is happening. I look forward to the long term benefits this will have for our program.

Additionally, you have done a masterful job at keeping or bringing players back to the program both current and former. Players who were once dead set on transferring, have changed their minds, and alumni are suddenly welcomed back to Arizona Stadium.

Finally, Coach you have not put a cap or limit on the type of player you are willing to recruit. Seeing you offer the top recruits in the country is a breathe of fresh air. In that we are now throwing our name in there with the top dogs such as Notre Dame, Clemson, Ohio St. and Alabama. Makes my heart smile from ear to ear!

I know we have not played a game yet but I have 100 percent confidence in where this program is headed and that it is in the right direction. I apologize for my reaction and recant on everything I said. I am on board and haven’t been this excited for a season in years! Thank you, Coach! Bear Down and Go Cats!
